About Me

My photo
I graduated from Loyola University New Orleans (Geaux Wolfpack!) with a B.A. in Psychology. I recently completed two years as an AmeriCorps member during which I found a home at the Washington Middle School for Girls. Prior to WMSG, I worked as an adult education instructor for the Corrections Organized for Re-entry program (CORe). My mission at WMSG is to empower the students and stregnthen their voice. I hope to inspire a love of learning and a love of self.

Reading Expectations

Congratulations Seventh Graders,

You have successfully completed your three weeks in Read for Real! I know that you all thoroughly enjoyed The Mysteries of Legend, but it is time to switch gears. We are now moving into Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry by Mildred D. Taylor.  Throughout the next four weeks, you will write reflective summaries on the life and times of Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry. During this time, please use your blogs to capture any and all of your thoughts and questions.
