I graduated from Loyola University New Orleans (Geaux Wolfpack!) with a B.A. in Psychology. I recently completed two years as an AmeriCorps member during which I found a home at the Washington Middle School for Girls. Prior to WMSG, I worked as an adult education instructor for the Corrections Organized for Re-entry program (CORe). My mission at WMSG is to empower the students and stregnthen their voice. I hope to inspire a love of learning and a love of self.

Oral Presentation

On Monday, 6A will practice oral presentations. Each student was allowed to choose a topic of her choice. Topic examples included: Ballet, History of Chocolate, and Religious Holidays. Each student was given the following guidelines to prepare her presentation. 
  1. What is your Topic?
    • Make it specific!
  2. Who is your audience? (6A)
    • How will your audience change how your topic or how you deliver your topic? 
  3. Is your topic relevant to your audience? Explain.
  4. How will you present? 
    1. memorize
    2. Use note cards 
    3. PowerPoint
  5. Each student must have ONE Visual Aid
    • Will it enhance your presentation? or distract? 
    • Examples: PowerPoint -  Poster board
  6. Time Limit
    •  3-5 minutes
