I graduated from Loyola University New Orleans (Geaux Wolfpack!) with a B.A. in Psychology. I recently completed two years as an AmeriCorps member during which I found a home at the Washington Middle School for Girls. Prior to WMSG, I worked as an adult education instructor for the Corrections Organized for Re-entry program (CORe). My mission at WMSG is to empower the students and stregnthen their voice. I hope to inspire a love of learning and a love of self.

Homework Assignment: Animal of the Year Award

For homework
Due tomorrow
 Tuesday, November 1st.

  1. Research the special visual talents of one animal. You may choose an animal mentioned in your Word Wisdom (page 50) or another animal that you like.
  2. Write a short speech describing the animal's visual talents.
  3. Explain why your animal deserves the Animal of the Year Award
  4. We will vote on the best speech tomorrow!

    cats are amazing. at night their eyesight is even better. their vison is like night vison. cats are the best animals becasue the are flexible, sneaky, hiss, and are very clever. this is why cats should win animal of the year.

Dogs are tricky.They see different things.They see black and white colors.They run very fast.Some are small,big, and very different.Dogs walk on four legs unlike humans who walkes on two.Dogs are more likely to get hurt faster then humans.Dogs tounges are different because when they drink water they just put they tounge into the water and the water disappear.Unlike Humans when they do something with they tounge it just rolls off.Dogs are protective.They cann protect you Ms.Humphries DOGS SHOULD WIN ANIMAL OF THE YEAR

  3. my favorite animal is a panda bear they are quiet cuddly sweet and likes to eat like me. panda bear's should would win the award because sweetness and cuddlyness is impotrtant.
